Ultimately, decisions based on precise forecasts have to be implemented in plant technology: additional energy generators such as combined heat and power plants, boilers, pumps or energy-intensive plants have to be switched on or off at the right time to regulate output. The procurement of electricity, gas and heat must be managed optimally.
Load management can be applied in many insances: Own power generation to minimize energy costs, integration of renewable energies and storage in existing network infrastructures or n + 1 protection against power failures in safety-critical systems.
